Chile’s Iron Bones — self-described purveyors of “HeavySpeedRoll” — delivered their debut EP Black Worship through Thanatology Productions in a run of 200 copies, announcing themselves as one of the more energetically unhinged propositions in the Chilean underground. The band’s DNA is planted squarely in the dirty end of speed metal and hard-hitting rock ‘n’ roll — Motörhead, Venom, Carnivore, the early Type O Negative — filtered through a rawness and directness that belongs entirely to Chile’s punk-metal underworld. Formed in 2018, the trio of DBoner (guitars/vocals), Ironer (bass), and Viking (drums) built their attack on blunt riffs, punishing rhythms, and the kind of no-filler approach that makes short releases hit harder than most full-lengths. Black Worship established the template that the band would expand on Electric Sacrifice (2019) and Till the Hammer… (2021). For fans of everything that runs fast, loud, and mean.
