7th studio album of this kult Scandinavian Black Metal horde. For this record, MARDUK took their standard wall-of-noise approach, and threw in a couple mid-tempo songs, some melody, and even a few short atmospheric passages sometimes reminescent of Immortal. This album came after the legendary “Panzer division..”, and it is slower, doomier, and much more atmospheric. It starts with a short instrumental, then rages into Azrael, a very good song with a nice bass line in the mid section and 70s sounding rock atmosphere. Yes, that may be hard to believe, but it is true. Next is Popa Funebris, another instrumental. The next few songs are raging BM with blastbeats and tons of screaming, glass gargling vocals from none other than Legion. Believe it or not, Marduk continues ejaculating surprise after surprise once curriculums settle in; some items old alongside newer ideas, but rather impressive nonetheless.

Para este disco, MARDUK adoptó su enfoque estándar de pared de ruido y lanzó un par de canciones de medio tiempo, algunas melodías e incluso algunos pasajes atmosféricos cortos que a veces recuerdan a Immortal. Este álbum vino después de la legendaria “división Panzer ..”, y es más lento, más fatal y mucho más atmosférico. Comienza con un breve instrumental, luego se enfurece en Azrael, una muy buena canción con una buena línea de bajo en la sección media y una atmósfera de rock de los 70. Sí, eso puede ser difícil de creer, pero es cierto. El siguiente es Popa Funebris, otro instrumental. Las siguientes canciones son furiosas BM con ritmos explosivos y toneladas de voces gritando y haciendo gárgaras de cristal de nada menos que Legion. Lo creas o no, Marduk continúa eyaculando sorpresa tras sorpresa una vez que los currículos se instalan; algunos elementos viejos junto con nuevas ideas, pero bastante impresionantes.
