A genuinely one-of-a-kind artifact from the international underground: Swine of Hades is a five-track split MCD released in July 2011 through Godreah Records, assembling six acts from completely different corners of the extreme metal spectrum for a collection of exclusive tracks centered on a deliberately irreverent attitude toward genre purity. The results are improbable, raucous, and deeply compelling. Evo (of UK anarcho-punk/metal legends Warfare) and Algy Ward (Tank, The Damned) open with a skull-crushing cover of Status Quo’s Tune to the Music — a pairing nobody saw coming. Taake follow with a furious reading of GG Allin’s Die When You Die, featuring none other than Necrobutcher (Mayhem) on bass and Erlend Hjelvik (Kvelertak) on guest vocals — a collision of black metal royalty and hardcore degeneracy that somehow works perfectly. Japan’s avant-garde black metal masters Sigh contribute the exclusive Somniphobia, one of their signature exercises in controlled chaos. UK doom-death-black oddities The Meads of Asphodel bring the sardonic There’s a God in My Gruel. And UK black metal veterans Thus Defiled close the record with the nine-minute And They Shall Fear the Night, featuring Sakis Tolis of Rotting Christ as guest. Twenty-seven minutes of deliberately unhinged, internationally assembled extreme metal madness. Essential for collectors.

Los inclasificables doom-death-black británicos The Meads of Asphodel traen la sardónica There’s a God in My Gruel. Y los veteranos del black metal británico Thus Defiled cierran el disco con los nueve minutos de And They Shall Fear the Night, con Sakis Tolis de Rotting Christ como invitado. Veintisiete minutos de demencia extrema internacional deliberadamente desquiciada. Esencial para coleccionistas.
