Before the blastbeat blitzkrieg of Those of the Unlight, before Opus Nocturne, before Heaven Shall Burn and the full artillery of what Marduk would become — there was Dark Endless, the debut that almost no one associates with the band’s legend, and precisely the one that reveals how that legend was built. Recorded in four days in June 1992 at Hellspawn Studios (also known as Unisound), produced by Dan Swanö — the same engineer behind Edge of Sanity and a dozen other Swedish extremities — Dark Endless is a raw, urgent slab of blackened death metal that sits at the exact crossroads where Stockholm death metal and the emerging Norwegian black metal wave collided. It opens with the eerie keyboard intro The Eye of Funeral, then immediately detonates with Still Fucking Dead (Here’s No Peace) and never relents: nine tracks of cold northern ferocity including The Sun Turns Black As Night, The Funeral Seemed to Be Endless, Departure from the Mortals, the brooding title track, and the riff-driven Holy Inquisition. This is the only Marduk album featuring Andreas Axelsson on vocals — a vocalist whose death metal-rooted delivery marks the record as a creature of its moment — and bassist Rikard Kalm, both replaced before the next album. Dedicated to the entire death metal underground. Swanö’s production is cold and precise, each kick and snare cut cleanly through the mix in a way that only heightens the inhuman menace. Released December 1992 on No Fashion Records, and now available in this Rawforce Productions Chilean edition — making the foundational document of one of black metal’s most enduring bands accessible where it belongs.

Abre con el espeluznante intro de teclados The Eye of Funeral, luego detona inmediatamente con Still Fucking Dead (Here’s No Peace) y no cede: nueve temas de ferocidad nórdica gélida incluyendo The Sun Turns Black As Night, The Funeral Seemed to Be Endless, Departure from the Mortals, el oscuro tema homónimo y el basado-en-riffs Holy Inquisition.
